Hope

I see Hope more clearly now. She is serene. Her eyes have the deep knowing look of someone well acquainted with sorrow, the luminosity of recently being wet with tears. Hope has the confidence of one who clearly sees a bright future even when the next hours seem fog shrouded. Hope is steady and strong, a friend I am glad to have beside me during my own trials.

The Word

Ohm... Shanti... are words I adore,
Bringing a whisper of remembrance
A hush of sacredness
A sound of praise
Recognition achieved
Worship speaks a language universal
Amen... a beginning
Hosannas.. invite
Come... beckons
Rest assured
All welcome
Namaste... greets light!

The Temple

The container prepared
Exquisite indeed
Carefully planned
Finest materials shared.

Deity invited in
Celebration occurs
Hosannas ringing
A recovery from sin

One cannot find completion
Until Christ enters within
Bringing harmony
Home of glory sanctioned

Dwelling of peace
Sacred spirit unites
Learning, growth
Strength increase

In silence distress disolves
Stillness reconciles
His presence heals
Order revolves.

The temple walls are found in us
Our body the house
In resides our spirit
Our we aware of our regalness?

Yoga, The Poetry of the Body

The lines of our body contour and fold
Lifting us beyond our reach
Flowing not jerking
Melting into a new gentleness
A concentrated movement unveiling the unseen
Divine nature and weakness intertwined
Searching without judgement
Observing with no shame
Letting go of fears
Relaxing our resistance
Stepping further to a stillness all our own
Willingness without force
Unfolding without collapsing
The space we fill blends with our world
Container expanding into shadows of a forgotten time
Glimpsing at light
Waiting to come in
Straining to arrive
Conscious of our inability
Familiar to something we've felt before
Peace beckoning
The poetry left unfinished
An end for today
Leaving with a hope of return....

Life....

Life moves in its own rhythym with ebbs of tranquility
When with little warning a storm hits
Rearranging or shattering the pattern we've become accustomed to
The walls we've created crumble in a single stroke
Leaving us awakened to the fragility of life
Wanting to escape the pain we find no relief
Sadness overcomes at times
Beneath the sadness is a flicker of hope
Leading to a faith in God who brings all who love Him into a peace and quiet joy
Knowing he will lead us to a better place
Showing all we experince to be for our good
Casting burdens on Him, He strengthens
He gives rest and comfort
Drying our tears
He teaches us ever so kindly
Sometimes in gentleness
Other times by stark truth cutting us deep
We gain understanding, relief, knowledge, compassion, charity, experience
Pain humbles,
Pain softens, revealing our weakness
Life continues uninterrupted
The rhythym of change flowing.....

Surrendering

As truth opens within,
A heart bleeds.
Disappointment streams,
Finding weakness of deeds.

Once slave to opinions,
Released, serving anew
Deafness to doubt,
Standing with a few

Hearing a gentle voice,
Faint beneath
No comfort in change,
Step beyond, leave the barren reef.

The wounded heart,
Surviving to heal
Love, joy
Beginning to feel.

No anxious excite,
Swelling of the breast.
Surrendered, at peace
A place finding rest.

Be Still, Know God

In the enflamed sky near moning's day break
Be still, know God
In the lapping, hush of waves engulfing rocky shores
Be still, know God
In the fragile new moment of a chick so delicate
Be still, know God
In the tit, tat sound of the wet pattering rain
Be still, know God
In the whirring, purposeful buzz of honey bee jet
Be still, know God
In the anonymous portrait of a sunsets fame
Be still, know God
In all our pomp and greatness claimed
Be still, know God
Nothing one can do to stop the day from unfolding
Be still, know God
